St-Viateur bagel shops for the best bagels in town, Schwartz’s for the best Montreal smoked meat sandwiches, Old Montreal, Muse des Beaux Arts, St. Catherine’s St for shopping, there is so much to do/see there, but these are my faves.

Stay in Old Montreal. And I recommend Hotel Nelligan. The room rates are good and it’s a luxe boutique hotel in the heart of old town. Take a guided tour of the Basilica. And you MUST have brunch at Marche de La Villette. All walking distance.
